Happy New Year!

In 2011 Schools Librarian, Hannah Griffiths left the library to work at Ballakermeen - we were very sad to see Hannah go and miss her but that she's loving her new job very much.

Just before Christmas Kath Garrett, Assistant Librarian, retired from the library. Again we all were very sad to see Kath go and miss her very much already.

We have a new Schools Librarian, Sarah Johnson who will organising our book exchanges for schools and developing new ideas to support teachers and pupils this year.

Keep an eye on this blog or our wikipage at www2.sch.im for all the great events we have coming up in 2012

£400 for Children in Need

The library raised £400.41 for Children In Need this year

Over the Autumn a lot of kind and generous people donated spare wool and knitted or crocheted lots of cute items for us to sell. During November we sold all the adorable items to our young members and their parents - pocket-money prices from 50p to £3 - with a lot of people giving more than was asked.

Although they didn't want the attention we'd like to thank everyone who donated wool and everyone who gave their time and creativity to make such irresistible items -

Children In Need - Wool Stash for Cash

Hello knitters and crocheters out there!

We know that anyone who knits or crochets ends up with a stash of lots of unwanted odds and ends, what do you do with them? Well, we have a solution. You could make one, two or more little cuddly toys or cute critters to donate to the Family Library woolly Children In Need fundraiser.

We'd sell all the donated items - for pocket-money prices - at the library throughout November. Any donations will be gratefully accepted and you can start donating the items now.

Please spread the word - Thank you!
