Hocus Pocus Prize Day

What a wonderful time we all had! 

Staff would like to thank all the children and parents who came to the library on Saturday 12th September for making the event such a great success. We presented over 100 winners certificates on the day as well 13 individual prizes to pupils who had put in extra effort during the challenge.

It was very kind of Moira Ashworth from the Lexicon Bookshop to sponsor prizes for Head Girl, Holly Shimmin and Head Boy, Peter Smith - admirable young people who deserve these titles.

Catherine Craig and Callum Finney won the prizes for designing our school ties. Zachary and Archie Elliott won the main prize for being Best Pupils and other prize winners were - Bronte and Simi Skelcher-Maxwell, Jasmine and Anika Colligan, Lucy and Joshua Brown, Elliot Townend, Jack Tyrer, Alexandra Halsall, Karl Callister and Cate Atkinson.

Special thanks also go to Mike Clague (Youth Advisor, a.k.a. Professor R U Reddy) who presented the certificates and prizes and brought along the magnificent Young Magicians of Mann who amazed the crowd with their incredible dexterity and magical skills - thanks Young Magicians!

We'd also like to thank Jo Overty and John Kelly for coming and recording the event for us.

Mainly, we would like the thank all the children who took part in the 2009 Reading Adventure - well done and congratulations to all those who completed the 5 book 5 visit challenge.
